Microsoft Edge will integrate a cryptocurrency wallet ???

Altcoin news, News

According to reports, Microsoft is working on incorporating a crypto and nonfungible token (NFT) friendly Web3 wallet into its Edge web browser.

Albacore, a software documenter and occasional information leaker, published a set of alleged Edge user interface (UI) screenshots demonstrating the early phases of the firm’s new Web3 wallet in a March 17 Twitter thread.

“Newest in the gauntlet of questionable upcoming Microsoft Edge features, a crypto wallet. Not really sure how to feel about this kind of thing being baked into the default browser,” Albacore mentioned.

If confirmed, the wallet will be non-custodial, with Microsoft having no access to passwords or recovery keys, and it will also be “integrated in Edge” rather than a browser extension.

The crypto wallet integrated in Edge by Microsoft will support ETH, DAI, USDC, USDT and many more and it has an association with moonpay and coinbase as per the screenshots shared.

Microsoft’s likely move is yet another recent effort to considerably expand Edge’s services and capabilities, which have usually lagged behind competitors such as Google’s Chrome and Apple’s Safari in terms of popularity.
