A long-term strategic worldwide relationship was announced between the crypto payments platform Wirex and the payments firm network Visa. This partnership will allow Wirex to grow its services in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) and United Kingdom areas.
According to the release, Wirex will become a member of Visa in APAC and the UK. This will give them the ability to offer debit and prepaid cards with cryptographic capabilities to customers in more than 40 countries.
In the year 2015, Wirex was the first firm in the world to provide a card that was equipped for cryptocurrency transactions. The collaboration between Wirex and Visa will make it easier to work together in regions such as Asia Pacific, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States.
Wirex is able to do all of these things because it is a member of Visa. These things include enhancing the user experience, offering new products to utilize cryptocurrency in daily life, and testing out new blockchain projects. Wirex and Visa have committed to continuing their partnership in order to jointly create new services and expand the reach of their card program internationally.
Wirex serves the most clients in the United Kingdom, and it is seeing rapid growth in the Asia Pacific region. By offering this partnership, Wirex hopes to open the door for more people to benefit from cryptocurrencies.
“It’s terrific to deepen our cooperation with Visa,” said Svyatoslav Garal, Regional Managing Director of Wirex APAC. “Visa has played a significant role in helping us to bridge the gap between the conventional and digital economies,” he said. We will be able to continue building a card and app for the next generation with the assistance of Visa’s demonstrated commitment to safety, security, and innovation.
“Visa aims to deliver additional payment choices to customers by integrating digital currencies with our network of banks and merchants,” said Matt Wood, Head of Digital Partnerships for Asia Pacific at Visa. “Visa wants to bring digital currencies into the mainstream.” Wirex is increasing their emphasis on the Asia Pacific area, which is really exciting news for us. This will make it simple and hassle-free for customers to spend their cryptocurrency balances at the millions of businesses in the region that accept Visa.
