Validators can withdraw staked Ethereum from Beacon Chain using Shapella.

Goerli, a node on the Ethereum testnet network, successfully upgraded to Shapella, which enables validators to withdraw some or all of their staked Ethereum (stETH) from the Beacon Chain.

This is the penultimate test run before to the Shapella update of the final Ethereum mainnet, which is planned for early April.

Shapella’s fork on the Goerli testnet required 15 epochs owing to below-the-threshold participation, according to blockchain analyst “terence.eth” (time to increase by a certain amount of blocks).

Tim Beiko, an Ethereum core engineer, claims that certain validators were still using outdated clients, which adversely impacted how well the network performed overall.

He criticized testnet validators who lack motivation because they believe the Goerli ETH “is useless”.

The community anticipates validators to make the necessary improvements before to the Shapella update on the Ethereum mainnet, nevertheless.
