Gucci and Yuga Labs enter into a long-term agreement

News, NFT news

The legendary high-end fashion house Gucci is serious about its web3 ambitions as it signs a multi-year deal with NFT giant Yuga Labs, home to Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks, Meebits, and 10KTF.

According to a Business of Fashion report, “The deal is meant to extend engagement between each company’s communities by exploring the intersection between fashion and entertainment in the Metaverse.”

Yuga Labs’ Chief Creative Officer, Michael Figge, noted the collaboration with Gucci extends to endless opportunities in the Otherside metaverse.

Robert Triefus, chief executive of Gucci Vault & Metaverse Ventures, stated: “We are excited to unveil this multifaceted partnership with Yuga Labs, a leader, and creative pioneer in web3. This will give us an active role in Otherside and 10KTF’s continuing narrative, unfolding in multiple forms.”

Triefus teased the collaboration during his presentation at the BoF Professional Summit: An Inflection Point in Fashion Tech last week.

He stated that Gucci continues to see a long-term possibility in web3 for creating community, fostering client loyalty, and eventually producing income.

Meanwhile, around 7,200+ concurrent Voyagers joined the Otherside Metaverse second Trip with Players on Team Glacia led by Jimmy Wong emerging as winners. The winners received a rare winged helmet as a reward.
