In a monumental move that promises to redefine Oman’s blockchain landscape, Bitmain, a leading provider of crypto mining products, has announced a strategic partnership with Exahertz and Moonwalk Systems. Together, they aim to set the stage for the Sultanate’s blockchain future and work towards realizing Vision 2040.
A Transformative Collaboration
Bitmain’s partnership with Exahertz takes center stage as Exahertz prepares to host an impressive fleet of 10,000 state-of-the-art BITMAIN machines at its Exahertz Technology Park, nestled in the heart of Salalah, Oman. This visionary technology park stands tall as the largest private blockchain data center in the Middle East.
Harnessing Hydro Systems
Exahertz has also joined forces with Moonwalk Systems to harness the power of hydro systems in the pilot testing of the Exahertz Technology Park located in Salalah. This strategic move is poised to ensure the data center’s peak performance even amidst the challenging climate conditions of the Middle East.
A Green Approach
Going beyond performance, sustainability takes center stage in this ambitious venture. The Exahertz team is set to make the data center eco-friendly by employing treated grey water to efficiently cool down the data center’s computers. This eco-conscious approach aligns perfectly with the growing global emphasis on green technology.
Bitmain’s Director, Jihan Wu, shares his thoughts on this significant collaboration, stating, “This partnership allows BITMAIN to establish a more robust presence in the region, leveraging our advanced technology.”
A Vision for the Future
The CEO of Moonwalk Systems, Sam Ferdows, expresses excitement about this groundbreaking partnership with Bitmain. He envisions the Exahertz Technology Park as the benchmark for blockchain data centers not only in the region but on a global scale, particularly in the realm of hydro solutions.
To mark this momentous partnership, an inaugural event was graced by the presence of His Highness Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said and H.E Eng. Saeed Bin Hamoud Al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information, along with esteemed ministers. Their participation underscores the profound significance of this collaboration for Oman’s technological evolution.
