Argentine Football Association join into Metaverse with Upland

After Argentina’s incredible victory in the FIFA World Cup 2022, the governing body of Argentina soccer, the Argentine Football Association (AFA), forays into the metaverse in collaboration with the metaverse platform Upland. This move comes in the wake of Argentina’s phenomenal success in the tournament.

In line with the terms of the agreement, the Argentine Professional Football League, known as the Liga Profesional de Fútbol (LPF), will be included into the Upland metaverse platform by the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

A variety of digital artifacts or NFTs relating to Argentine football, including as teams, clubs, players, tickets, game highlights, historical events, and so on, will also be included as part of the agreement between the AFA and Upland.

In addition to this, the arrangement marks a first for Upland since it provides for the sole ownership of highlight films from LPF matches. Users of Upland will also have the ability to create virtual firms, which they may use to operate stores on virtual properties and from which they can resell LPF NFTs.

At the start of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Upland made the announcement that it will provide the tournament’s victor with the keys to a brand new city. Upland indicated that further information on the opening of the city would be announced shortly after Argentina was determined to be the victor.

The President of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Fabian Tapia, made the following statement: “The Argentine Professional League has long-awaited chances to take use of developing technology to improve our League’s fan experience.” Because of this agreement, we are able to form partnerships with the most innovative companies that develop new technologies and digital goods, which will result in the creation of a new revenue stream for all of the participating clubs.
