With the registration of four new Web3-related trademarks in the United States, the Japanese manufacturer Nissan is the most recent to step up its Web3 efforts. Meanwhile, its Japan business is experimenting with car sales in the metaverse.
The latest files include Nissan’s Infiniti, Nismo, and Nissan trademarks, according to trademark applications Nissan submitted to the USPTO on March 7.
According to USPTO filings, Nissan intends to create virtual goods including as clothing, vehicles, headgear, trade cards, toys, tickets, and a nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace for exchanging and minting NFTs.
The company has also outlined plans for “entertainment services” such online video, images, artwork, tickets, audio, sounds, music, and trading cards. Also, the company has created a website with information on Nissan’s planned NFTs and how they would function.
The petition claims that “non-downloadable computer software for use as a digital wallet” is also in the works.
According to the statement, customers may place automobile orders and complete purchase agreements via this virtual sales office. In addition, Nissan filed five trademark applications in October 2022 for the Skyline, Z, and GTR, three of its most well-known car models.
