Recently, Solana Network went online after two unsuccessful efforts to resume after recovering from an outage, prompting the community to express their displeasure. The outages have been a significant burden and source of frustration for the operators of the Solana network.
Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko issues the plans to tackle the balance between reliability and building a scalable yet fast network.
According to Yakovenko, “the challenges that surrounded the 1.14 network upgrade that was focused on improvements for speed and scalability made it evident how difficult it is to maintain stability during these significant updates.”
Core engineers want to enhance the process of rolling out new software by bringing in external developers and auditors to test it and look for flaws. This is in response to the latest update that was implemented.
Core developers plan to assist in the process of improving it by lowering the testnet to the version and feature set of the mainnet beta at the present time, and upgrading the testnet to the release candidate of the next version.
A little more than a third of the main technical team at Solana Labs has also established an opposing team with the goal of adding extra hooks and instrumentation to the validator code in order to aid in locating the vulnerabilities.
Solana Laboratories and other essential technical teams from the outside have also contributed to the improvement of the network, and they will continue to do so with a focus on the network’s dependability.
The group is going to put in a lot of effort to make the restart process go more smoothly. In addition, the Firedancer team at Jump Crypto is hard at work developing a second validator client in order to improve the “throughput, efficiency, and robustness” of the network.
“Core engineers are dedicated to implementing these modifications so that innovation and speed do not come at the expense of dependability. According to the statement made by one of the co-founders of Solana, “the advice and support of the community are priceless and help the network come closer to a more decentralized future.”
