Grease Monkey Games, a gaming company located in Australia and a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has announced that it has formed a cooperation with Mishimoto to develop the next-generation racing video game “Torque Drift 2.”
The cooperation will make use of the Polygon blockchain network to provide a web3 gaming experience and will provide special Mishimoto licensed utility NFTs to Torque Drift 2.
After the successful demonstration of Torque Drift 2 during the second quarter of 2023, Animoca Brands said in the press release that the full version of the game is scheduled to be released in the year 2024. In addition, the game will be integrated into the REVV Motorsport ecosystem of metaverse racing games when it is released.
In addition to other areas of blockchain technology, the fastest-growing industry is gaming in the metaverse and web3. By 2025, it is anticipated that the industry for online gaming would have skyrocketed to a worth of $256 billion.
In the news announcement, Grease Monkey Games’ founder and managing director, Arran Potter, said, “we are all about bringing the pleasure and excitement of automotive culture to gamers all around the globe.” In addition, this partnership with Mishimoto is going to bring everything to a whole new level. We can’t wait to see what type of amazing vehicles our gamers will be able to create and modify using the top-of-the-line components that Mishimoto has to offer.
As a result of this agreement, Mishimoto will provide its knowledge in the automobile industry to the development of gaming systems. It will populate the virtual environment with recognizable components like intercoolers and gear shifters, for example. It will be possible for players to modify their in-game cars in order to improve their overall performance.
