PayPal to Expand its Crypto Service to Luxembourg, ByBit Integrates ApeX Pro DEX, Nomad Preparing Relaunch

  • PayPal will expand its crypto service to Luxembourg “in coming days,” the payments company said in an announcement. “Once available, eligible customers will be able to buy, sell, and hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash in their PayPal accounts via the website or the mobile app,” it said.
  • Financial technology company Ramp launched its off-ramp product in the United States, which enables users to sell 34 digital assets across 17 blockchains, while also offering real-time payments (RTP), said an announcement. Users whose banks allow RTP will see dollars deposited into their accounts typically in under 20 seconds, it added. In the near future, Ramp will seek to expand its off-ramp product into the UK and Europe, while also introducing new payout methods through 2023.

  • ByBit has integrated the decentralized exchange ApeX Pro into its offering, it announced today. Customers can now trade on both types of exchanges on one platform. ApeX Protocol is a multichain decentralized derivatives protocol, which aims to address flaws in existing DEXs, such as high gas fees and poor order execution, it said.

  • Decentralized app Tranchess announced the launch of liquid staking for users to earn from staked ethereum (ETH) while retaining liquidity with an ETH-equivalent token, qETH, said a press release. qETH can be swapped for ETH in Tranchess’ Balancer pool. As Ethereum does not currently allow withdrawals of staked ETH, validators may offer liquid staking services and give users token equivalents to use as collateral elsewhere in the interim, it added.
  • Layer 1 blockchain Aptos announced the addition of the decentralized video streaming network Livepeer to the Aptos ecosystem. Developers building on Aptos can now use low-fee video streaming supported by Livepeer, an announcement stated. An Aptos press release added that the two “will bring low-fee video streaming capabilities to developers building decentralized applications (dApps) on Aptos.”
