Singapore-based Crypto Mining Platform Bitdeer Teams Up with Nvidia for AI Cloud Services in Asia

Bitdeer Technologies Group, a Singapore-based crypto mining platform, has marked a significant milestone by becoming the preferred cloud service provider (CSP) in the Nvidia partner network. This strategic move places Bitdeer at the forefront of AI development in Asia, providing customers access to the cutting-edge NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD with DGX H100 systems through its upcoming Bitdeer AI Cloud.

In response to the escalating demand for AI computing power, Bitdeer aims to expedite the development of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and other AI workloads. By harnessing NVIDIA’s AI supercomputing capabilities, Bitdeer plans to deliver state-of-the-art GPU cloud infrastructure, enabling the efficient execution of complex AI tasks.

Bitdeer, a spinoff from Bitmain, the world’s leading bitcoin mining computer chip company spearheaded by crypto billionaire Jihan Wu, is set to launch its cloud service platform in the first quarter of 2024. Wu, who also co-founded the crypto financial services startup Matrixport in 2019, envisions establishing a high-performance foundation. This foundation will leverage GPU cloud infrastructure to dynamically execute complex AI workloads. Matt Kong, the CEO of Bitdeer, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with NVIDIA, underscoring the potential for groundbreaking advancements in AI and large language models in Asia.

This partnership aligns with the surging demand for cloud-based computing solutions, driven by rapid developments in machine learning, AI, and LLMs. Bitdeer’s GPU cloud service, coupled with its expertise in hash rate-sharing and cloud services, positions the company as a key player in providing cutting-edge computing solutions in the region.

Bitdeer’s strategic roadmap unfolds in four phases:

Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS):

Focused on providing high-performance GPU cloud infrastructure to efficiently harness the full potential of GPUs, catering to organisations’ AI-driven initiatives.

Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS):

Actively developing a comprehensive GPU-as-a-Service platform to simplify the deployment and management of AI applications, offering flexibility and scalability for businesses seeking to implement and build out AI solutions.

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS):

Committing to providing turnkey AI solutions by democratising AI and eliminating the complexities of in-house development, making AI accessible to organisations of all sizes.

Application-as-a-Service (AaaS):

Tapping into the growing Asia Pacific API market, Bitdeer plans to craft API services that enable businesses to effortlessly introduce AI into existing workflows, offering an intuitive and efficient development platform for seamless integration with existing applications.

Bitdeer anticipates the launch of its DGX SuperPOD-based high-performance cloud service platform in Q1 2024, marking a significant stride in advancing the accessibility and utilisation of AI for organisations across diverse industries.

Matt Kong, CEO of Bitdeer, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to work with NVIDIA to lay the groundwork for the next era of AI and large language model advancements in Asia. Becoming a Preferred member of the NVIDIA Partner Network validates our technological competence and market reach.”

Tony Paikeday, senior director of the DGX platform at NVIDIA, highlighted the significance of generative AI, stating, “Generative AI empowers businesses to unlock unprecedented scalability, reliability, and innovation.” He emphasised that with Bitdeer’s adoption of NVIDIA DGX infrastructure, the company is poised to deliver the AI supercomputing and software necessary for deploying advanced generative AI models and services.

This partnership not only cements Bitdeer’s technological prowess but also positions it as a key player in propelling Asia towards the forefront of AI innovation. As the collaboration progresses, the industry can anticipate groundbreaking advancements in AI capabilities and cloud services in the coming years.
