On Friday, Nike’s Web3 undertaking, RTFKT (pronounced “artifact”) bought dotswoosh.eth for 19.72 ETH, roughly $35k. With this deal, RTFKT now owns 10 Ethereum Name Service (ENS).
Interestingly, Nike’s goal for the acquisition stays unclear. Some twitteratis have identified that Nike might need to use the area for issuing ENS subdomains sooner or later. Note that the primary area identify holder controls ENS subdomains.
Thus, Nike might permit homeowners of explicit NFTs/different property to register an ENS subdomain beneath dotswoosh.eth (james.dotswoosh.eth).
It is price mentioning that other than dotswoosh.eth, RTFKT owns artifacts.eth, skinvial.eth, rtfkt.eth, drmos.eth, mintvial.eth, dreamos.eth, spacedrip.eth, dripcoin.eth, and m2tekno.eth.
Nike’s ENS are a strategic reference to its present holdings. The Mint Vial for occasion is a reference to the CloneX Mint Vial Ethereum NFTs, which could be burned to create a singular CloneX avatar NFT.
