According to the information that can be found on the official website of LG Electronics, the firm is looking for chief technical officers (CTOs) to head its expanding Web3 business. LG Electronics is one of the major worldwide makers of electronic products.

Quick information

The multinational electronics corporation is seeking Chief Technology Officers to fill positions in two of its divisions: business development and service design.

The first option will establish new companies in blockchain and Web3 technology, in addition to securing collaborations in the international Web3 industry. It is anticipated that the latter would design and create decentralized apps (dApps), in addition to doing research on blockchain and Web3 services.

A working knowledge of blockchain technology and the usefulness of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is required of applicants for these roles.

In a public statement made in February, LG Electronics revealed that some of its long-term business objectives include the creation and commercialization of blockchain-based software, as well as the trading and brokerage of crypto assets.

In September, LG Electronics released Wallypto, its first decentralized cryptocurrency wallet, which is powered by the Hedera Hashgraph blockchain. Wallypto was given the moniker “Wallypto.”

According to the press release, LG Electronics had an overall sales volume of around 21.18 trillion Korean won in the third quarter of 2022, which is approximately $15 billion USD.

Blockchains are the underlying technologies that make cryptocurrencies possible. Web3 refers to the development of a decentralized internet that is often based on blockchains.
