Federal law enforcement officials in Brazil have carried out search-and-seize raids at 15 companies in two states in a bid to interrupt up a suspected crypto-themed “pyramid scheme.”

Per Agência Brasil, the nation’s nationwide public information company, officers swooped on 15 unnamed firms based mostly within the states of Santa Catarina and São Paulo on September 27.

The Federal Police Force (recognized regionally as the PF) claimed that the companies had been energetic “between 2017 and 2020” and mentioned that the businesses had “attracted clients” to make “investments in cryptoassets and other businesses” – promising these purchasers “profits beyond those that exist on the market.”

Like many crypto scams, the pyramid seems to have made guarantees about “guaranteed” month-to-month beneficial properties.
