BitBoy Crypto Sues Youtuber Atozy in Scam Defamation Lawsuit

One of YouTube’s hottest crypto influencers ‘BitBoy Crypto’ sued one other social media persona ‘Atozy’ for defamation and for calling him a scammer w.r.t selling an offbeat cryptocurrency and claiming damages in extra of $75,000.

Ben Armstrong, often known as BitBoy Crypto, claims that Erling Mengshoel Jr., a.ok.a. Atozy’s commentary video in which Armstrong discusses a cryptocurrency known as Pamp is an assault on his livelihood.

Armstrong, based on Atozy, is “not someone you should be looking up to for any advice whatsoever” on the subject of cryptocurrency recommendation.

Armstrong filed a grievance and a jury demand towards Mengshoel in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta for “defamation (…), intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, tortious interference with business relations (…), and violation of the fair business practices act.”

The grievance particularly refers to Mengshoel referring to Armstrong in a November 9, 2021 video as a “shady dirtbag who milks his audience for a quick buck rather than giving them genuine advice.”

In the video, Mengshoel aka Atozy additionally said that regulators have been more likely to examine such promotions, saying, “it’s basically inevitable the SEC is going to get involved because dirtbags like this cannot resist the urge to take that quick buck and just milk their audience for some extra money.”

However, there’s a disagreement between what Armstrong claims in his lawsuit and what he states on-line in his disclaimers.

“Can there be a more damaging assertion for someone like BitBoy Crypto, who engages in the business of providing advice and commentary on cryptocurrency investments?” the lawsuit asks.

BitBoy revealed on Twitter in June about his class motion lawsuit towards Celsius after the community reportedly employed restructuring legal professionals specialised in getting ready companies for chapter.
